what i learned this summer is…

Take risks- accept a job offer from a company you had never heard of, move to a city you’ve never been familiar with, and live with people you’ve never met.

Surprise yourself- stand up for yourself and for what you believe in and for the people you love.

Hard times reveal your greatest assets- strengths you never knew you had, untapped courage, unwavering bravery, and the people who will always be right there.

Reach out to that person you haven’t seen in years- get coffee, get drinks, share laughter, realize that any type of loneliness you’re feeling is self inflicted and you have the power to change it.

Be your own best friend- spend quality time with yourself doing things you are passionate or curious about, be confident in your interests, no one can take you away from you.

Relationships of any kind aren’t hard- so if they are, cut them.

Open your heart- to the old woman on the subway, to the man playing saxophone in the streets, to the person behind you in line at Starbucks.

Nothing goes according to plan- and that’s okay, sometimes it’s a blessing, sometimes it’s not, but regardless, it can be handled.

Look towards the future- there is always something great on the horizon.
